Born and raised in Matanzas, Cuba, she began her professional training at The Vocational Arts School in Matanzas Cuba, and the National Ballet School in Cuba, where she graduated in 2010 as a professional dancer and teacher. Ms. Garcia won a gold medal at World Ballet Competition in EUA. She is regularly sought after as a guest performer for many events including the Miami International Ballet Festival in 2012 and World Ballet Competition Gala. She has been a frequent guest artist with companies like Rochester City Ballet, Salt Creek Ballet and Florida Classical Ballet. She joined Cincinnati Ballet in 2013 where she danced Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and Camelot choreography by Victoria Morgan and Symphony in C. In 2015, Milena joined Oklahoma City Ballet as a soloist. Some of Milena’s favorite roles with Oklahoma City Ballet include Peasant pas in Giselle, Sugar Plum in Robert Mills’ The Nutcracker and Odalisques in Dennis Speight’s Scheherazade.
While she was dancing with Cincinnati ballet she taught at Tech Ballet of Ohio and NCYB Northern Cincinnati Youth Ballet where she was frequently invited for the summer program. Then she moved to Oklahoma City where she began teaching for Dance Phase studio, Tilt Dance Company, and Pulse Dance studio for two years.
